All schools must register for both the Golden Gate Speech Association (GGSA) and the California HS Speech Association annually in order to be eligible to participate in GGSA tournaments. Please note that registering for GGSA does not automatically make you a member of CHSSA or the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). Coaches must fill out separate forms to register for CHSSA and NSDA.
NEW IN 2023 GGSA dues will include CHSSA dues. Schools who pay their GGSA dues this year will automatically have their CHSSA dues paid for. Schools must still complete the CHSSA registration form, however, to complete their CHSSA registration. FYI, CHSSA increased dues from $100 to $150 at their May 2023 meeting.
To register for CHSSA, please contact our Area Chair after August 15 to access the CHSSA registration form. Any questions should be directed to our CHSSA Area Chair Artem Raskin: area1@chssa.org. If your squad attended the State Tournament last year and you rolled over your judge bond to pay for 2023-24 CHSSA dues, your dues will be credited to your GGSA account for future use. Schools must still pay their GGSA dues. Check your CHSSA Membership Status - link will go live by Sept. 1 Check Your GGSA Membership Status - link will go live by Sept. 1
