GGSA and chssa Membership
All schools must register for both the Golden Gate Speech Association (GGSA) and the California HS Speech Association annually in order to be eligible to participate in GGSA tournaments. Please note that registering for GGSA does not automatically make you a member of CHSSA or the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA).  Coaches must fill out separate forms to register for CHSSA and NSDA.  Check your CHSSA and GGSA membership status for 2024-25 here.

GGSA dues will include CHSSA dues.  Schools who pay their GGSA dues this year will automatically have their CHSSA dues paid for.  Schools must still complete the CHSSA registration form, however, to complete their CHSSA registration.  FYI, CHSSA increased dues from $100 to $150 at their May 2023 meeting.

Please make your check payable to GGSA and mail to:

To register for CHSSA and GGSA, please fill out the form below.  Any questions should be directed to our CHSSA Area Chair Artem Raskin: [email protected].  If your squad attended the State Tournament last year and you rolled over your judge bond to pay for 2024-25 CHSSA dues, your dues will be credited to your GGSA account for future use.

Step 1: Fill out the following form:  CHSSA REGISTRATION FORM OPENS SEPT 1, 2024
CHSSA/GGSA SCHOOL REGISTRATION FORM (this form includes both CHSSA and GGSA registration)
GGSA School Authorization Form (also included in the CHSSA form above)

Step 2: Pay your GGSA membership dues for the 2024-2025 season.
  • $0 if your school did not compete in the previous year
  • $100 if your school had 1 -10 students compete last season
  • $150 if your school had 11 - 30 students compete last year
  • $200 if your school had over 30 students compete last year
NOTE: To qualify for the reduced GGSA membership rates, you must provide a complete list of the students from your school who competed in the GGSA in 2023-24.
