GGSA History - Michael Gonzales
GGSA includes the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humbolt, Lake, Marin, Mendcino, Napa,
San Francisco, San Mateo(northern), Siskiyou (west of Yreka), Solano (sw of Hwy 12), Sonoma, Trinity.
GGSA is part of Area I of the California High School Speech Association (CHSSA).
There are four areas in the state.
The purpose of GGSA is to foster a speech program for the high schools of the northern Bay Area an Northwest
California through the active association of speech coaches dedicated to student development through competitive
forensic events.
Membership will be open to any high school within the boundaries of the GGSA as defined by CHSSA.

Coaches' Meeting Minutes
Coaches' meetings are held three times per year, during which matters of the league, such as tournament
schedules and league policies, are decided.
